The short answer

1-800-GOT-JUNK is a long-running national brand that works on an on-site estimate. A truck comes out, a crew looks at the pile, and you get a number in the driveway. Plenty of people are fine with that and the crews are professional.

JunkRabbit publishes the price first. A sofa is $126. A queen mattress is $103. A half-truck load is $431. The minimum for any visit is $75. You see those numbers while you are booking, on your phone, before anyone is dispatched to your address.

We are not going to invent figures for the other company. Check their quote yourself. The thing worth comparing is the model.

Why the model matters more in this valley than most

Las Vegas runs on shift work and short leases. A dealer on swing shift, a bartender who clocks out at 4am, a server whose Friday is somebody else's Tuesday. Those people are not sitting at home waiting to negotiate in a driveway. They want a price, a slot, and a door they can leave unlocked for a scheduled window.

Turnover compounds it. A huge share of valley households are renters on twelve-month leases, and move-outs cluster hard around the end of the month. If you have a walk-through on the 31st and a security deposit on the line, a number you can see on Tuesday for a Thursday pickup is worth more than a number you will find out about on Thursday.

On-site estimating versus upfront flat pricing

The two models fail differently, and it is worth being clear about how.

• On-site estimate. The crew sees the actual load, which means the number reflects reality. The trade-off is that you commit to an appointment before you know the cost, and if the number is higher than you budgeted you are having that conversation with two people already parked outside your Green Valley house.
• Published flat price. You build the list yourself, item by item or by truck fraction, and the total is fixed before dispatch. The trade-off is that you have to describe the load honestly. If you book one couch and there are also two dressers, the list gets corrected.

Neither is a trick. They are just different places to put the uncertainty. We put it before the booking, on purpose.

What is included, so there is no ambiguity

The number covers the whole job.

• Carry-out from anywhere on the property. The upstairs bedroom of a Mountain's Edge two-story, the back of a three-car garage in Southern Highlands, a detached casita, the far side of the pool. No stair charge, no long-carry charge.
• Disposal. The gate fee is inside the price. You are not billed a pass-through afterwards.
• Same-day when we have the slot. No surcharge for it.
• Gated communities. No premium for Anthem, The Ridges, Lake Las Vegas or the guard-gated Summerlin villages. Just put us on your visitor list.

A worked example

Say a condo near the Strip is turning over. Out goes a sofa, a queen mattress and box spring set, a 55-inch TV, and a coffee table.

$126 + $143 + $68 + $67 = $404.

That is the number you would see before booking, and that is the number on the receipt. If it turns out the load also includes two bar stools, the list gets updated to $404 + $37 + $37 = $478 and you approve it. What does not happen is a different total appearing for the same items on the day.

Booking and access in a gated market

More of this valley sits behind a gate than almost anywhere else its size. Guard-gated villages, code-entry complexes off Eastern and Sahara, Strip-adjacent high-rises with loading dock reservations and freight elevator windows.

Those buildings usually want a certificate of insurance on file and a booked dock slot. Sorting that out is far easier when you already have a written price and a scheduled window to hand the front desk, rather than a pending estimate. How to choose

If you like a crew to eyeball the pile and you have an open afternoon to be home for an estimate, the on-site model is fine and the national brand does it at scale. If you want the number first, a fixed slot, and no driveway conversation, book the published price. For end-of-month move-outs, walk-throughs, and anyone working a casino schedule, that second thing tends to matter a lot.
